Sherri Davidoff is the CEO of LMG Security and the author of three books, including “Ransomware and Cyber Extortion” and “Data Breaches: Crisis and Opportunity.” As a recognized expert in cybersecurity, she has been called a “security badass” by the New York Times. Sherri is a regular instructor at the renowned Black Hat trainings and a faculty member at the Pacific Coast Banking School. She is also the co-author of Network Forensics: Tracking Hackers Through Cyberspace (Prentice Hall, 2012), and has been featured as the protagonist in the book, Breaking and Entering: The Extraordinary Story of a Hacker Called “Alien.” Sherri is a GIAC-certified forensic examiner (GCFA) and penetration tester (GPEN) and received her degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from MIT.

Matt Durrin is the Director of Training and Research at LMG Security and a Senior Consultant with the organization. Sherri Davidoff is the CEO of LMG Security and the author of three books, including “Ransomware and Cyber Extortion” and “Data Breaches: Crisis and Opportunity.” As a recognized expert in cybersecurity, she has been called a “security badass” by the New York Times. Sherri is a regular instructor at the renowned Black Hat trainings and a faculty member at the Pacific Coast Banking School. She is also the co-author of Network Forensics: Tracking Hackers Through Cyberspace (Prentice Hall, 2012), and has been featured as the protagonist in the book, Breaking and Entering: The Extraordinary Story of a Hacker Called “Alien.” Sherri is a GIAC-certified forensic examiner (GCFA) and penetration tester (GPEN) and received her degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from MIT.

Matt Durrin is the Director of Training and Research at LMG Security and a Senior Consultant with the organization. He is an instructor at the international Black Hat USA conference, where he has taught classes on ransomware and data breaches. Matt has conducted cybersecurity seminars, tabletop exercises and classes for thousands of attendees in all sectors, including banking, retail, healthcare, government, and more. He is also the co-author of a new book, Ransomware and Cyber Extortion: Response and Prevention. What: A cross-sector gathering for collaboration and innovation to shape the future of STEM education in Montana, hosted by the Montana Afterschool Alliance.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE EVENT:
This year’s summit will include a STEM program expo and panel discussions on topics such as emerging technologies, workforce development, and youth voice. Work sessions will give you the chance to connect and share your expertise and ideas.
Then on Friday aiEDU and TIES will lead educators in an exploration of how AI can be leveraged to support student success, empower teachers, foster collaboration and creativity in the classroom, and lead to a more empowered workforce.
Whether you are an experienced technology user or simply curious about the latest advancements, this summit will provide valuable insights, practical resources, and open dialogue.
Since 2017, the Montana STEM Summit has convened leaders from education, business, afterschool programs, government, industry, and nonprofits, along with engaged citizens, to discuss and highlight how to expand STEM learning across the state.

SkillsUSA Montana State Leadership & Skills Conference
What: Skills competition for middle school, high school, and post-secondary students to highlight their talents in trades, technical fields, and public speaking, hosted by SkillsUSA Montana

WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE EVENT:
This premier event brings together students, educators, and industry leaders from across the state to showcase technical skills, leadership, and career readiness in a variety of competitions. Participants from middle school, high school, and post-secondary levels will compete in hands-on contests that highlight their talents in trades, technical fields, and public speaking.
Engage with the next generation of skilled professionals—participate as a judge, volunteer, or supporter, and help shape the workforce of tomorrow!
Students need your experience, wisdom, and stories to become the best leaders they can be. Judging is easy because you already have the skills and expertise needed to do it. Judging competitive events requires a one-day commitment or more if you want, and you’ll be guiding students towards success in college and their future careers. Come for a day or make it an annual event––either way, leave knowing you made an impact.

In this episode of LMG Security’s Cyberside Chats, cybersecurity experts Sherri Davidoff and Matt Durrin break down Apple’s fight against the UK’s demands, the global backlash, and what it means for cybersecurity professionals. Join them as they explore real-world risks, historical backdoor failures, and what IT leaders should watch for in evolving encryption policies.
Speakers:
Sherri Davidoff - Chief Executive Officer, LMG Security
Sherri Davidoff is the CEO of LMG Security and the author of three books, including “Ransomware and Cyber Extortion” and “Data Breaches: Crisis and Opportunity.” As a recognized expert in cybersecurity, she has been called a “security badass” by the New York Times. Sherri is a regular instructor at the renowned Black Hat trainings and a faculty member at the Pacific Coast Banking School. She is also the co-author of Network Forensics: Tracking Hackers Through Cyberspace (Prentice Hall, 2012), and has been featured as the protagonist in the book, Breaking and Entering: The Extraordinary Story of a Hacker Called “Alien.” Sherri is a GIAC-certified forensic examiner (GCFA) and penetration tester (GPEN) and received her degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from MIT.
Matt Durrin - Director of Training and Response, LMG Security
Matt Durrin is the Director of Training and Research at LMG Security and a Senior Consultant with the organization. He is an instructor at the international Black Hat USA conference, where he has taught classes on ransomware and data breaches. Matt has conducted cybersecurity seminars, tabletop exercises and classes for thousands of attendees in all sectors, including banking, retail, healthcare, government, and more. He is also the co-author of a new book, Ransomware and Cyber Extortion: Response and Prevention. A seasoned cybersecurity and IT professional, Matt specializes in ransomware response and research, as well as deployment of proactive cybersecurity solutions. Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Montana, and his malware research has been featured on NBC Nightly News.
